Where should I go to jump?

Recommended Posts

Well I'm not taking any vacation from work for Christmas so I'm going to take a three day jumping trip in Jan. Where should I go to jump? I'll be flying to the destination on the 21st and returning home on the 24th. I'd like to stay on the DZ so I don't have to get a hotel and am going to try to find a ride to the DZ so I don't have to rent a car.

I can get a round trip ticket to Orlando for about $140. What's the weather like in Jan? I guess if I get there and it goes to crap I could always do a tunnel.

Arizona and California are about the same ($230+) on airfare. I think Eloy would be the best bet for jumpable weather but if I can save $100 by going to Orlando that's great.

California=Elsinore
Arizona=Eloy
Florida=Z-Hills, Deland, etc.

For staying on the dz in FL, I'd say that Z-hills has the best facilities. I think there are some trailers for rent there too that you might be able to reserve.

For the weather, the high's could be in the 80's or they could be in the 40's, you just never know. We had very few nights last year that dipped below freezing. You should be fine and should be able to find a lot of dz.commers to meet up with.

40 is fine with me. I'm from Kansas. It's currently 14 (if you include the windchill) here and the high tomorrow is suppose to be 21 and that doesn't include the windchill. Jumping is going to be cold this weekend. Brrr

Then the biggest problem you'll have is getting the Floridians to fill the plane. We'll all be shivering and complaining about how cold it is when it dips below 60! :ph34r:

I'd love to Troy but I work most of the nights you are going. I think I'm going to head to Z-Hills over those dates. $133-$150 plane fare is just too hard to pass up.

You coming up this weekend? I have a tourney on Saturday but should be out Sunday.

We'll probably hit Air Cap this weekend since we have friends in town and it's closer. That is asuuming the temp gets above frostbite.[:/]
It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.

Hey the title of this thread is deceiving, there was no "in a lake" choice for the survey.

But I vote for Florida, Geronimo !!:S
