hangingman 0 #1 July 14, 2003 are there any wieght limit or hieght limits for jumping.
skybytch 259 #2 July 14, 2003 Depends on the type of jump you're doing (AFF, static line, tandem) and the dz you're jumping at. Best to contact the dz's in your area and ask them.
Blahr 0 #3 July 14, 2003 Quoteare there any wieght limit or hieght limits for jumping. Well I'm not sure about the weight, but the height has to be at LEAST high enough for the chute to open!
sducoach 0 #4 July 14, 2003 yes on the weight limits. Manufactures and TSO's set those. As far as height limits I would believe (IMO) the only limit would being able to correctly fit in a harness. Check with your local DZ for specifics or call the container manufacturers for their weight limits. Blues and welcome! J.E.James 4:
Tonto 1 #5 July 14, 2003 We limit AFF and SL to 220lbs Reason for this is reserves are TSO'd at 250lbs and gear is less than 30lbs. Tandem is person and weather dependant to an all up weight of 450lbs. Our DZ is 5000 ft ASL, so the big boys have some speed - even on 290 sq ft canopies. tIt's the year of the Pig. Amazon 7 #6 July 14, 2003 I jump with a guy who is 315 and 6'5" so out the door of the airplane is about 345..... some DZ would not even allow him to jump.. but he has a huge reserve.... a 260 Triathalon main. all packed up into a Velocity Infinity container.. and does just fine.... phonics1981 0 #7 July 14, 2003 At My DZ, you had to have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of less than 27.5 to do your first jump as a solo (ie AFF) Go here http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm ------------------------------------------------------ "Ive given up on sigs cos I make a mess of them!" ------------------------------------------------------
