flyinchicken 0 #1 October 26, 2003 I was checking out Oniscore and saw something strange. Kathy and Steve from Elsinore only scored in the first round. Did something happen too either of them? I'm hoping not. Does anyone know the reasons for this? "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman

skyejumper 0 #3 October 27, 2003 She's ok. I asked a jumper at Perris about it, who was there with her. He said she experienced some kind of vertigo/dizziness, so after the 2nd round she had to stop. Forunately no serious injury or anything.
 jmpwme 0 #4 October 28, 2003 By way of stopping any rumors and speculation, skyejumper is correct. Kathee was having a problem with dizziness/vertigo that prevented her from continuing beyond the first round due to saftey concerns. The score in the first round was, however, sufficient to allow her to qualify for the US team participating in the 2004 World Championships. As hard as it was for Kathee to step down from the competition, there is a lesson to be learned here. If you feel a jump is unsafe, stand down, even if you are in competition, even if the jump is important. Even seasoned competitors do it if its required. It is always better to stand down than end up a topic of discussion in the incidents forum. Kudos to Kathee for having the guts to stop when the competition meant so much to her.
