justaflygirl 0 #1 April 18, 2005 yep, jump number 64 yesterday was cutaway #2 for me. I deployed, it looked fine, went to go thru my intial after deployment stuff and I had no control. to my "no-so-expierenced-64-jumps-eye" I didn't see the problem, I didn't immediatly chop it, but after much tinkering, I realized I couldn't land it, so away she went... After I got on the ground, two of the packers at my dz quickly found the problem, the eye on the right toggle was very frayed and it was very hard to pull the toggle from it. ( one packer had to use both hands) but it went good, I saved my butt and still had fun...

Look the gear over before you jump it, seriously, and ask an Instructor or Rigger if it's airworthy. Be safe.
