It's my birthday and I don't get to jump

Recommended Posts

It is freezing outside, literally. My wife was going to take me on my first tandem jump for my birthday but it is to cold. I am so bummed. Oh well, hopefully next weekend will be warmer. I can't wait because afterwards I get to start my AFF.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Yesterday was my B-day. The weather was perfect, but couldn't jump due to an injury that might take as much as 4 months to heal. I suspect you will be in the air before me. It will be worth the wait. Enjoy.:)

California dreamin', on such a winter's day... Let's see, at 4 PM Pacific time, you had...
Conditions at: KSCK (STOCKTON, CA, US) observed 2355 UTC 14 January 2007

Temperature: 8.9°C (48°F)
Dewpoint: -9.4°C (15°F) [RH = 26%]
Pressure (altimeter): 30.28 inches Hg (1025.5 mb)
[Sea-level pressure: 1025.3 mb]
Winds: from the NNW (330 degrees) at 9 MPH (8 knots; 4.2 m/s)
Visibility: 10 or more miles (16+ km)
Ceiling: at least 12,000 feet AGL
Clouds: sky clear below 12,000 feet AGL
Weather: no significant weather observed at this time

48 degrees, 9 mph, blue skies? Sounds like jumping weather to me!

Compare that to 4 PM Central time, where I had...
Conditions at: KCUH (CUSHING, OK, US) observed 2153 UTC 14 January 2007

Temperature: -4.0°C (25°F)
Dewpoint: -5.0°C (23°F) [RH = 93%]
Pressure (altimeter): 30.09 inches Hg (1019.0 mb)
Winds: from the NW (310 degrees) at 12 MPH (10 knots; 5.2 m/s)
Visibility: 4 miles (6 km)
Ceiling: 600 feet AGL
Clouds: overcast cloud deck at 600 feet AGL
Weather: BR (mist)

25 degrees, 12 mph, 600 feet? (Plus an inch of ice on the roads?) Sounds like staying-home-and-drinking weather to me! :)

Smart man; don't listen to these crazies; skydiving is about having fun, not freezing.

Hey! Things are warmin' up here in SoCal... its 20deg F this morning... as opposed to yesterday morning when it was 9deg F when I got up! :D

I bet y'all can't wait for it to be 6 months from now so you can bitch about it being hot!

:P
