The ASTRA control head is slightly larger than Cypres control head, just large enough that it will not fit gracefully into many Cypres-ready containers. ASTRA's second negative point is that you have to remember to turn it on and off for every jump. If you forget to turn off an ASTRA, the batteries will be dead by next weekend. We mentioned both negative features to Francis Xavier Chrevrier when he brought ASTRA prototypes to Rigging Innovations circa 1995, but it was too late to change the design.
