Helmet Cam Requirements???

Hey-

So I'm pretty new to skydiving...just off student status, but I had a question about helmet cams. I was wondering what the requirements were, if any, before you can start using one. I want to use the GoPro Helmet Hero.

Its small lightweight and not really a snag hazard. I'm just curious what the regulations are and what you guys recommend. Thanks.

I'd wait until you have 200-300 jumps and can do whatever your discipline is (freefly, bigways, 4-way) pretty competently first. In other words, if you are doing 4-way, get to the point where you can launch an exit reliably and turn a few points. Then add a camera.

Believe it or not, those aren't the biggest issues when it comes to doing camera. It's focus. Someone with 500 jumps in-discipline using a big, bulky Flattop Pro is a lot better off than someone with 100 jumps using the latest smooth, tiny CX100 based helmet.
