Recommended Posts

Hi Sky People!

I would like to get some feedback regarding the current DZ.com article "The Abort Zone". We can discuss the matter further, and expand on points that needed clarification.

Fire away!

Thanks,
Brian

I thought it was a great article. I'm very new here, so it's all a bit too advanced for me to really comment on the info in the article itself, but I'm trying to soak up all the info I need. All of your writing always satisfies my over analytical brain with all kinds of juicy knowledge :) I have to know the "WHY" and you always seem to be ready to give that kind of info. Very helpful.

Keep up the good work.

I also thought that it was a good article to read. Now that I have a few jumps under my belt, what I was reading actually made sense to me. By any chance will you be doing your canopy piloting course in California any time soon? I would love to go through the course.

And that a giant radioactive duck will emerge from the ocean and eat Baltimore.

I think it is important to not that this article is not just for swoopers. If you think of the level-off place as the entry gate of a swoop course, the discussion makes more sense for someone flying a standard pattern. Steep is steep, regardless of how you got there.

Excellent article Brian and it complements the "don't go there" chapters:)
We are taught to go up high and practice our dive to figure out canopy recovery and altitude loss but I never thought about practicing digging out up there. I've practiced getting the canopy overhead quickly but digging out with pitch then roll recovery makes more sense.

Never something you cannot do up there huhB|
