DJL 232 #1 April 25, 2016 Does anyone do this at their DZ? Basically, if you clean the mats, help with manifest, boogies, whatever you can get a standby ticket. The caveat is you can only use it on less than full loads or certain times. Curious how places are doing this and what does/doesn't work."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
CarlJoos 0 #2 April 26, 2016 I see the peripheral staff (boarding guy, fueler, etc.) getting free jumps on the first and last loads of the day, space available. The idea is that on the first load, the DZ won't be very busy yet, so they can be spared at that time. And on the last load, their jobs are all but done for the day, with no more time pressure. So this policy gives them incentive to work all day for low wages, for the benefit of two free jumps per day. And some of those guys have built up enough experience to do that to progress to being coaches, videomen, tandemmasters and AFF instructors. It's just awesome to see the former lawn care guy grow up to make AFF jumps!
