SpeedRacer 1 #1 December 23, 2011 In these times when so many of us are out of work, some of us are selling whatever we can. You can post ads in the paper & craigslist, but should the requirement for a street vendor's permit be lifted? I figured there would be some desperate last minute Christmas shoppers downtown and I'd like to be able to get some cash for some stuff, but I'd probably get hassled if I just went downtown & sold it on the street. Shouldn't we lift the ban on street vending during these desperate times? Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
rehmwa 2 #2 December 23, 2011 Why, those permits provide much needed "revenue" which 'could' be used for things like green energy, or soup for poor people. why do you hate poor people and clean air? ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Legal products, healthy environment, sanitary conditions if it's food....etc. Those fees that feed local coffers are a large part of support for the areas the vendors operate in. Reduce fees...depends on the city's economic environment I suppose.
