CanuckInUSA 0 #1 November 20, 2011 Spaniards went to the polls today to choose a leader they hope can guide the country out of its deep economic crisis. Opposition conservative leader Mariano Rajoy of the Popular Party is widely expected to be elected as the next Prime Minister defeating the incumbent government, the "Partido Socialista Obrero Español" (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), which would make Spain the latest country to lose a government over the European debt crisis. Even with the anticipated new government, there still will not be any immediate relief for Spain's overall 21.5% unemployment rate, and a 45% rate of unemployment for young people. But the days of massive unchecked government spending and loose debt are just not sustainable. http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/20/world/europe/spain-election/index.html?hpt=wo_c2 http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2011/11/20/spain-votes-sunday.html All I can say is good luck to the Spanish people. I hope you can get your house in order and attract businesses back to your country to help with your terrible unemployment rates. Of course while the Spanish people reject their present socialist government, expect plenty of rhetoric to surface here about how Big Government Anti-Business Socialism is the only way.
