freethefly 6 #1 August 27, 2011 Why should the Feds (taxpayers) pay this bill for Texas. They should have a State tax to cover their own cost. Hell, they could save a fortune if they quickly deport them. Perry does tend to talk out of both sides of his face. That makes him very dangerous. http://news.yahoo.com/perry-bills-feds-349m-incarcerating-illegals-025702439.html While we're at it. A little peek into the dangerous dark abyss that is the religious mindset. http://news.yahoo.com/perry-signs-pledge-anti-gay-marriage-amendment-161046437.html Others vying for the Republican presidential nomination, including Michelle Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, have also signed it, according to Brian Brown, president of Washington-based National Organization for Marriage, which campaigns against same-sex marriage. I guess governmental intrusion is fine, as long as it fits in with their religious agenda."...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." rhaig 0 #4 August 27, 2011 I'm not a fan of Rick Perry. I won't even pretend to support him. But the point of billing the feds for this (as it was pointed out Napolitano also did) is to draw attention to the fact that the border is like a sieve and the border states are having to pay to clean up that mess. As to saving money by deporting them... Again, a federal agency does that. ICE agents get a call when the illegals are done with their prison sentences for crimes they have committed here, and they're held until ICE shows up, or until the end of the day. ICE tends to not show up, and the illegals are cut loose. And yes, it's somewhat of a publicity stunt. sure... he's a politician. He'll take free publicity. What is interesting would be to see his reaction (likely none) when the feds receive a bill like that if he becomes president.-- Rob
