Springsteen Dissed By Senate Republicans

Recommended Posts

What a bunch of assholes. Sen. Bill "Asshole" Frist and the Republican leadership wouldn't even bring Bruce Springsteen to an "up or down vote" on a resolution to honor his musical career on the 30th anniversary of the release of "Born to Run". What a bunch of complete fucking shitheads !

Note: Resolutions honoring artists and musicians tupically pass the Senate on an almost daily basis, or at leat they used to before the fucking Nazis hijacked the Republican Partei.

Reminds me of nothing so much as their soul brothers, the fucking Nazis, denouncing Jazz as degenerate Negro music. Apparently The Boss is not up to their standards of ideological Aryan purity. Sig fuckin' Heil Frist, and suck my dick !

Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Why does thesenate and house waste its time on these things?

We have enough fluff there is far more important business forthem to work on.

I like the Boss, but damn lets fix the broke shit first! The war, economy, education (just look at my spelling and gramer) a budget for the country.

Maybe even the Boss would agree.
An Instructors first concern is student safety.
So, start being safe, first!!!

Dude...Springsteen isn't that great of an artist in my opinion. I never understood the appeal of his music.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Wow. I take it your a Boss fan. I dont think he was that good to begin with but if he was as good as you say he was why would he need a resolution to honor his musical career on the 30th anniversary of the release of "Born to Run"?
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

Westerners bicker about minor infractions on what they consider high profile issues.

Meanwhile thousands are slaughtered in some far away country.

A classical case of SEP (Someone Elses Problem).

i can't for the life of me understand why someone get's so damned worked up over something as petty as this... :S

Yeah, I get much more upset about Congress voting themselves a $3,000 pay raise.

Springsteen's praise is in his fans and fortune he has made from his music. Why should he give a shit about some piece of paper from Congress?

Hey, The Boss Rocks. Bought my first Springsteen album in 1973 and I still have all of them. GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK...Blinded by the Light (cut loose like a deuce), It's Hard to be a Saint in the City, Does this Bus Stop at 82nd Street? If that's not enough to convince those who say he has no talent then take a listen to The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle. 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy), Incident on 57th Street, Kitty's Back. Springsteen's music is pure American rock that came from the streets he grew up on. He should be honored, all politics aside, for his contribution to the arts. Someone posted that he can't sing well. Sure he probally wouldn't last one day on American Idol. But, then neither would Willie Nelson, Neil Young or a host of other balladeers. But what would the has beens who judge that show know about true talent. I grew up listening to The Boss and saw him several times in the 70's. He is an American icon and his music does reflect the American landscape. Pity that the politics of the simple minded politicians who voted down will keep him from an honor justly deserved. Regardless, he will always be honored by those who recognize his genius.
"...And once you're gone, you can't come back
When you're out of the blue and into the black."

So, how do you really feel?:D

Seriously, who gives a fuck about politicians' musical taste other than real nazis like Tipper Gore and her push to censor music?

Would it really be an honor to anyone to be held in high esteem by a bunch of politicians?

Walt
