RadioChick 0 #1 January 20, 2006 I heard a story about a girl who was deaf who went skydiving and got her hearing back. I do not know if she was born deaf, or lost her hearing later. My understanding is that this happened in the 80s and in Southern California. Thanks for replies with names/dates/anything that could help me track down the story. NelKel 0 #4 January 21, 2006 True. She was born deaf. It happened in 1984 at a DZ in California, but it has been closed for a long time now. I had nearly forgotten about it._________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan

Can you find an article on that? It'd be very interesting to hear (read) what exactly happened. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

mdrejhon 8 #8 February 8, 2006 Hi, I don't know, but I believe it was a fluke in 1984. Try checking historical newspaper records. It is not a cure for deafness, but if true, her ears probably had a long term blockage that cleared up in skydiving. There is a deaf skydiver website at www.deafskydivers.org and none of us regained our hearing while skydiving.
