SkyFlyer 0 #1 March 21, 2001 Hey!I put this post on the "Photography Board" but figured that most people go to this section first so I'll aske the same question here:What type of video editing software would you guys recommend for editing on a computer from my PC-5? I don't need to do anything real fancy but would like to do some digital editing. Thanks for the advice.

cyberskydive 0 #4 March 21, 2001 well you can do it on nearly any computer. 10-20 gigs or more harddrive if youll be doing it ALOT. Have a screaming processor, high bus speed, and gazoogles of RAM. Also you need a TV card, a vcr, and a tv of course. On the other hand if you just wanna take video directly from your camera and have it formatted for display on the web, Realproducer is free, from realplayer paople, you cant do much editing but you can convert it to a format widely used on the web. http://www.real.comif your going to be editing and doing tapes for people than the top is what youll want to go for. But you dont even need a computer for that. There are specific devices that you can buy to edit video with your camera, a cd player, and a couple tv sets. I'm not sure about them. Ask the video gurus at the dz. D.Chisolm C-28534[email protected]http://www.sunraydesigns.com
SkyFlyer 0 #5 March 21, 2001 Thanks. Digital Origin, which I found on the link you provided, has a seemingly good system called "Intro DV" designed for first time editors looking to do fairly basic stuff. (Here is their link: http://digitalorigin.media100.com/products/introdv/specs.htmlThanks again.
max 0 #6 March 21, 2001 There are several options to editing. The most basic is a VCR, CD Player, and and audio mixing board (cn be found at radio shack). With that setup you can edit music onto your tapes. As far as special effects, your PC5 should have a wide variety of effects you can use while taping. If you are looking for software for your home computer, I personnaly use the Adobe Premiere 5.1 It has alot of transition effects along with filters and is fairly easy to use. I use it with my TRV11 and have made several different leader tapes for the DZ I work at.
