Looking Dropzone near London, UK for a beginner

Recommended Posts

Can somebody from UK help. I am looking for a dropzone near London. My cousin lives there and once he mentioned he would "try" skydiving. So I am looking for a dropzone/club with courses for beginners. Does anybody know such club/dropzone/person to contact. No tandem! I want him to jump not to be a ballast. I heared there is still round static line courses in UK that is cheaper and I want to make him suffer. Also if you know some prices that would help.

yes, the UK is still in the dark ages.... and you can still find DZs putting out students on rounds with belly mounted reserves (sorry, I'm not a fan)... If you hate your cousin that much, why do you want him to skydive?
here's a list of all the DZs in the UK with an interactive map:

Well I do not hate my cousin, I like him very much. I am just jelaous he will start now and after a week he'll be more experienced than me. I can let that happen.
Thanks for the info I will check these pages.
Besides I have 15 round jumps with belly mounted reserve.
You know belly mounted reserve is a very good thing when you have a hard landing it is like a soft pillow protecting your face :-). Although when you have 20kg on your back and an additional 6kg reserve that is a real SPORT.
Oldimer sport rulez.

Weather I know:
As George Mikes a famous Hungarian writer (like me not famous, not a writer but Hungarian) who was living in UK since the 30s wrote in his book (How to be an Alien):
EXAMPLES OF CONVERSATION
For Good Weather
'Lovely day, isn't it?'
'Isn't it beautiful?'
'The sun...'
'Isn't it gorgeous?'
'Wonderful, isn't it?'
'It's so nice and hot...'
'Personally, I think it's so nice when it's hot - isn't it?'
'I adore it - don't you ?'
For Bad Weather
'Nasty day, isn't it?'
'Isn't it dreadful?'
'The rain... I hate rain..'
'I don't like it at all. Do you?'
'Fancy such a day in July. Rain in the morning, then a bit of sunshine, and then rain, rain, rain, all day long.'
''I remember exactly the same July day in 1936.'
'Yes, I remeber too.'
'Or was it in 1928?'
'Yes it was.'
'Or was in 1939?'
'Yes, that's right.'
