christoofar 0 #1 October 2, 2002 Story here These happen on a daily basis. Not very interesting, but at least the pilot walked away uninjured. Cockpit burned up shortly after it hit the truck. There's a number of old private strips littered about where the housing subdivisions have built around. What was odd was the TV stations interrupted local news like 3 or 4 times to show it. Most interesting avaition incident in San Antonio of recent memory was when a pilot had to land on Loop 1604 on the city's Northside b/c it ran out of fuel and couldn't keep a holding pattern. The City sent a truck to put fuel in the plane while it stopped commuter traffic for hours until it could take off and go back to the airport.
