Gotta spend the day sittin and waitin.I served before and bein as I cant work maybe it wont be so bad.Something to do anyways.Oh,and they pay like 8 bucks a day .

I believe thats real close for Ca. jury's.I dont remember what it paid last time but it was close to 8 bucks.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know what it feels like first hand to be grounded. I lost the entire summer last year. I had to have knee surgery ACL reconstruction, and cartilage repair and much physical thrapy. I hate hearing about other people being down, I feel they're pain.

I don't know why jury duty has been made into something everyone is conditioned to avoid. The waiting is boring, and the lawyers can be a pain, but the job is so important. Whether criminal or civil, you will have a great impact on the lives of the suspects and victims, plaintiffs and defendants.

I got called for Federal jury duty a while back. I had to commute from my house to San Francisco, like a hundred and forty mile round trip.

I asked to be dismissed, cause I'm an assh*le, but they just had to find that out for themselves before they'd let me go!

Just got home,booted(shoes wrong coler or somethin),5 cents a mile,1 way x 5 miles=25 cents.No other pay if its the first day.
Anyways,I served on a jury a year and a half ago in a conspiricy to commit murder and assault with a deadly weapon trial.It was a very interesting process and the best part about it was one of the bastards is gone for 86 to life.VERY greatful to be a part of that.
