Raoul DePutz theorized that he could use thermals to guide him to a safe landing using only a Bird Brain suit. For his test site he chose a fetid waste lagoon at the biggest hog factory in he state. At first, everything went as planned. DePutz exited over the pond and made lazy, descending circles, riding the column of heated waste. The trouble began as he penetrated 500 feet. The stench became unbearable, inducing dizziness and disorientation. The intensity was such that he lost consciousness at 60 feet and plunged head first into the disgusting muck. A farm worker witnessed the incident and pulled DePutz to safety. By the time rescue personnel arrived, the hog droppings had dried in the hot sun and encased DePutz in a reeking, adobe like shell.
