airtwardo 6 #1 June 17, 2003 Anchorage Assistance? Anyone from the great white north... Thinking about trying to do the marathon up there this weekend. Trying to find a reasonable priced Hotel / Motel / Bed & Breakfast... Everything I searched on the net is either booked, or well over 200.00 a night. ( possibly because of the marathon?) Can any locals give me any leads...hints... possibilities ? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! The best I can find on a room is 250.00 a night at the Sheridan... Any Ideas? steve1 5 #6 June 18, 2003 You might try Palmer or Eagle River. They are close to Anchorage and may have some cheaper rooms available. You might want to do some jumping up there also. There's a DZ near Palmer. If you have the time try to take in Denali Park. It's truly a neat place to visit. Taking lot's of bug spray is good advice.
