In my mind, I just can't see how they're gonna win something, by sueing people like they do now. A $20.00 CD is a rip-off IMHO, given the fact that manufacturing cost is much lower now, and also because the artist never get their share of the proceeds. Yves. lawrocket 3 #4 October 9, 2003 Then do what I do. Don't buy CD's. Or, go to one of the sites where you can dowload a song for a buck, thereby skipping the lousy ones and not paying for them. At least then you get what you want without stealing it. And, I've actually been surprised in the past at the quality of some albums. I'll find a song that was wasn't particularly well-known, but is a real gem. My wife is hotter than your wife.

In the pas, I've bought CD's with only 1 good song out of 15. And you can't return a CD, once you've torn the wrapping. Yves.
Fast 0 #7 October 9, 2003 The RIAA is not going to win this one. There are enough people out there like me, at least I think, who will just say screw it and not buy CDs. If I can't download the songs I want, I just will listen to the radio. Its simple... $20 is a rip off. I might buy CDs if they were like $4-$5, max.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. I dunno if it's the same in the U.S, but Universal just announced a drastic price cut on most Universal CD's sold in Canada (up to 25%). Will this be a lasting trend? Will other distributors follow this trend too? Let's hope so. They finally figured out, that peer-to-peer music exchange is here to stay, and there's nothing they can do to stop this. Even with the announced price cut, it still may be too late for them. Too little....too late. btw. I hope they lower the price of DVD's too! Yves.
