Nutz 0 #3 December 3, 2003 Man, a couple of deer hunters were asking me about hunting under a parachute today at work. I think there are laws against using airplanes to hunt and I don't think shooting is something I would want to do while I am flying to the ground. (Here in Alabama you are likely to get shot back at too. ) "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"
JohnRich 4 #4 December 3, 2003 QuoteI don't think shooting is something I would want to do while I am flying to the ground. I heard back in the 1980's that Ted Strong used to strap a guy with a machinegun to a tandem canopy, in order to demonstrate tandem capabilities to the Army, to try and sell them on the concept. Just recall those horrible scenes in "The Longest Day", where the paratroops are descending on the German stronghold, and are being gunned down before their feet even hit the ground. Then imagine that same horde of paratroops, descending under tandem chutes, with one soldier steering, and the other soldier shooting... I think I would want to be the passenger in that case!
