mibster99 0 #1 January 14, 2004 I thought it was interesting that NPR stated that the Mars Rover had a freefall speed of 150 mph as compared to a skydiver on earth who falls at 120mph. They must not have met any freeflyers.----------- Downwind

quade 3 #3 January 14, 2004 Would it make you feel better to know it deployed at about Mach 2? The 150 mph number is the speed under a fully deployed canopy near the surface.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

They must not have met any freeflyers. Most skydivers do fall at around 120mph. I mean, you could claim that skydivers break the speed of sound, too, but that's historically been pretty rare.
