I was thinking about asking the same question about getting a tacsew machine.
I am going to bring in some canopy material and test this tacsew gc6-6
http://industrial-sewing-machines.com/sewmach/mach_detail.asp?brand=Tacsew&Model=GC6-6&ProductType=Industrial+Straight+Stitch+Machines

I can get the whole setup brand new with table, light and an adjustable servo motor for $600

Anyone else have any info or comments?

In my loft we use brother and consew machines, and I just order a Juki bar tack machine.

I don’t have much experience on the techsew, not sure what it takes to time it or repair if something should break.

i have owned a tacsew 20u for several years. It is a good machine. The internal parts are almost fully compatible/replaceable with appropriate Singer parts. My only complaint is the motor isnt as smooth starting as the singers I have used.
