lifewithoutanet 0 #1 April 26, 2004 I haven't climbed since I left Colorado, nearly 3 months ago. My gear sits in a corner, packed in a haul-bag, no doubt envious of the use my rig is getting. I won't go so far as to try and drag anyone here away from the DZ on a weekend [yet], but are there any climbers in this forum that would be up for a little bouldering and know of some good spots in or around the Orange County area? I'm trying to stay outside and avoid the climbing gyms. So, any climbers out there up for some evening bouldering? -C.
freeflir29 0 #2 April 26, 2004 Climbing to me is like running. I only do it when I am out of ammo and people are still chasing me with weapons.

Bigwallmaster 0 #8 April 26, 2004 Currently I am out of commission as far as climbing goes, as I tore my ACL and I am getting surgery on Thurs. However, normally when I am not injured I do a heck of alot of climbing. I have been climbing for about 10 years. I don't climb too hard. . .I lead up to 5.10 trad (on a good day ); I can usually follow most 5.11's. Not too much climbing in Orange County per se, but there is stellar climbing to be found in Idyllwild at Taquitz/Suicide rocks. Stellar granite crack climbs up to 9 pitches in length. Another great area which I am sure you know about is Joshua Tree. Then of course to the north 5 hours we have the Valley. Need I say more? There are a few bouldering areas in Orange County, but I would prefer to keep those on the hush hush. PM if you would like to chat about it. When I recover from my injury I would be glad to go climbing with you. PM me if you are interested and I'll make sure to give you my phone number. For what it is worth, as far as gyms go Rockreation is Costa Mesa is a good place. cheers, J.P.
VectorBoy 0 #9 April 27, 2004 Ironically there are several walls at Perris to play on for all skill levels. Oh that would be LAKE Perris and you use the eastern entrance to the lake. Enjoy.
