skyyhi 0 #1 May 28, 2004 I know it was one of you traveling from out of town, but someone brought crappy weather with them for today. Its supposed to clear tomorrow by the afternoon but I know this is someone's fault because yesterday the weather report looked nice and sunny. . .Isn't it a rule that the sun is supposed to shine at boogies? I know I read this somewhere. . . ________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

Clownburner 0 #4 May 28, 2004 According to our friends at the National Weather Service.. It's an onshore gradient. Here's the internal forecast product (as opposed to the 1-line summary they feed the public usually) --- VERY STRONG ONSHORE GRADIENTS AHEAD OF AN UPPER TROUGH MOVING ACROSS CA THIS AFTERNOON COMBINED WITH A COASTAL EDDY HAS DEEPENED THE MARINE LAYER TO AROUND 4500 FEET. CLOUD BASES ARE AROUND 1800 FEET...MEANING A VERY THICK CLOUD LAYER IS IN PLACE ALONG WITH A VERY STRONG INVERSION. AREAS OF DRIZZLE WILL BE POSSIBLE INTO THE AFTERNOON...WITH THE BEST CHANCES IN THE INLAND VALLEYS AND THE COASTAL SLOPES. BURNOFF WILL BE MUCH SLOWER THAN NORMAL (IF AT ALL)...AND WE WILL LIKELY BE IN A REVERSE CLEARING PATTERN WITH COASTAL SECTIONS SEEING PARTIAL CLEARING BEFORE THE INLAND VALLEYS. ONCE THE TROF PASSES...COLD AIR ADVECTION ALOFT WILL WEAKEN THE INVERSION SLIGHTLY...BUT STILL EXPECT A DEEP ENOUGH LAYER FOR PATCHY DRIZZLE TO FORM TONIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY. AS THE UPPER TROUGH MOVES INLAND SATURDAY NIGHT...HIGH PRESSURE WILL BEGIN TO BUILD ALG THE WEST COAST SUNDAY. INCREASING HEIGHTS AND A SHALLOWER MARINE LAYER WILL RESULT IN QUITE A WARMUP SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AN EDDY WILL KEEP THE COASTAL SECTIONS FROM WARMING UP AS MUCH AS THE MARINE LAYER WILL KEEP TEMPS IN CHECK.7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
lifewithoutanet 0 #5 May 28, 2004 So you're saying I'm not missing much, eh? Socked-in here (Newport Beach) at the moment w/ a ceiling of 2200 feet and falling. I've got a flight lesson at 5 and I'm hoping it doesn't fall any further. Hope it improves, I'm heading to Perris tomorrow morning. See you there, just hopefully not in the Bombshelter until late in the evening. -C.

QuoteNope, up here in Seattle, it's that it's always raining for boogies, just like this weekend. I haven't jumped in so long I think I'm just gonna pass out or somethin'.
