DaMan 0 #1 July 22, 2004 Just an interesting observation on quality (products, customer service, whatever...) I got today (with my own addition). It's amazing when you put numbers in terms we can appreciate: EVER WONDERED WHAT 99.9% MEANS? When it comes to quality, 99.9% just isn't "good enough". Is 99.9% an unreasonable goal or too low? What does it mean? If all things in life were done right 99.9% of the time, this is what we would have to accept: · 1 hour of unsafe drinking water every month. · 2 unsafe plane landings per day at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. · 16,000 pieces of mail lost by the U.S. Post Office every hour. · 20,000 incorrect prescriptions every year. · 500 incorrect operations each week. · 50 babies dropped at birth every day. · 22,000 checks deducted from the wrong bank account each hour. · 32,000 missed heartbeats per person each year. or · 2151 of the 2,151,228 jumps made by USPA members last year ending in "less than perfect" results... What's your goal? Just some food for thought...Z-Flock 8 Discotec Rodriguez Too bad weapons grade stupidity doesn't lead to sterility.
Sebazz1 2 #2 July 22, 2004 So if I reduce my beer consumption from 100% to 99.9% I should be pretty well off... Cool Thanks...
PhillyKev 0 #3 July 22, 2004 · 1 hour of unsafe drinking water every month. Probably higher than that · 2 unsafe plane landings per day at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. Definitely much higher than that. · 16,000 pieces of mail lost by the U.S. Post Office every hour. Do I even have to comment? · 20,000 incorrect prescriptions every year. Yep, this one is true too. · 500 incorrect operations each week. In every major city.
