Digital camera recommendations?

I'm hoping to buy a Nikon Coolpix 4800 or 5200 for a Christmas present, but I know *nothing* about digital cameras. I've done some reading online and checked around the stores, but I'm looking for some personal recommendations.

Any feedback on this particular camera?

Anyone have another recommendation in the $350 - $400 range?

I find that the reviews on http://www.pcphotoreview.com/ are really great and theres lots of them. Also try epinions.com.

I've always had Olympus digital cameras and they have been awesome.

I second DPreview.com I am a canon camera user....have been since my second camera. Love their stuff and cant/wont switch anytime fast.
