repcool 2 #1 September 13, 2008 I really debated where to post this, but the issue is mostly about the size of a closing pin. I am taking 30 closing pins with me to a jump I am going to do in the Himalayas from 30,000 feet. It is a special jump to me and I want to get the pins engraved for the friends and family that have supported me. I took them to a few places that do corporate engraving but the size put them off. Any thoughts? Simon
NickDG 23 #2 September 13, 2008 I'm guessing a Jeweler could do it. They engrave the inside of rings that aren't much wider than closing pins. Probably going to be spendy though . . . Sounds like a cool jump, have fun! NickD
heavydude 0 #3 September 13, 2008 Got a easy solution for you: have it Lazer etched ! I have seen demos on these machines and they can etch a logo on anything, cell phones, knife blades etc. Some stuff like Scuba Gear I work on has SNs and other graphics etched on by Lazer. If you are around any manufacturing trade shows someone always has a demo machine there. (they cost about 20K so you cant really buy one) Finding one to do a batch probably wouldnt be hard, check the net. Etch per pin would take about 10 sec. BillyVance 34 #4 September 13, 2008 ask Acmeskydiver. She had a bunch of closing pins engraved for Skinnyshrek's family and friends after he was murdered last December."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
