Anvilbrother 0 #1 April 19, 2008 It started out as a white Z1. Used the Mirage color changing paint here were the steps. 1. Took liner, face shield and visor out 2. 1000grit paper to all surfaces 3. Cleaned with a degreaser/wax remover 4. 2 coats of adhesive promoter 5. 2 coats of black primer 6. 8 coats of mirage red to blue color changing paint 7. 4 coats of clearcoat. Sorry for the quality of the cell phone photo. It really changes color well in person. It has a bit of an orange peel texture on it. I think I like it that way. If I get tired of it or when it gets scratched up I am gonna wet sand it and really make it shine with a good bit of clearcoat to see how it works out. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. hudsonderek 0 #2 April 19, 2008 Nice looking helmet Man, I find using very fine steal wool in between paint coats gives you a nice smooth finish. this took me three days to do, putting designs on takes figgin time. as you can tell it's got some battle scars, things can't stay nice forever
