hooked 0 #1 August 14, 2005 Since there are so many informative posters on this site, I thought I would ask for help here. What I am looking for is (I think) a web cam that would allow me to talk to and see a person (using the same web cam). I have a granddaughter I miss seeing and would like to be able to see and talk to her and have her able to do the same. What equipment would I need to do this? Is it possible??? Any help or product suggestions would be so very helpful. J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. bivar 0 #2 August 14, 2005 My best suggestion would be using Msn Messenger, and a webcam from Creative or Logitech. (The cheaper ones, from any manufacturer, tends to give a more grainy image in low lighting.) I would also suggest using a pair of headphones, perhaps with a built in microphone. If you use ordinary speakers you will experience feedback and echo. Even cheap headsets work great. Logitech is one of many companies that makes headsets.----------------------------------------

hooked 0 #5 December 19, 2005 Old post, I know. I got the Logitech webcam, it works great. My son also got a Logitech webcam. We've used msn messenger to connect a video call...I can see and hear him, he can see me, but he can't hear me talking. I know my 'mic' works, so what could be going wrong here? -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. AlexCrowley 0 #14 December 19, 2005 it seems likely that the issue isnt on your side ..... unless you have to hit a 'send' button with MSN that you're not hitting when you talk :) Maybe your son needs to turn up the volume.
