Riser length without canopies in rig?

I want to get some new risers this winter, and wanted to see how much longer I could go.

I rigged up something so I could hang from some supports by the risers. The container was empty, and I know that it doesn't fit properly without canopies, but will it make a difference in the reach you'll get to the top of the risers?

Yes.
You will never get meaingful measurements on harness/container fit until you stuff it full of canopies.
