Vitamin Question

Recommended Posts

Serious question - someone's got to know.

So, I started taking a multi-vitamin again yesterday. This exact thing happened last time I started taking vitamins! I'm sitting here, about 30 or 40 minutes after popping the horse-pill-sized-vitamin, and I instantly get a "holy shit i'm going to puke" feeling - and sure enough, puke my brains out.

Is this normal? Okay? What is it... vitamin shock? Should I stop taking them? WTF? I thought taking a multi-vitamin was supposed to be good for you.

:S

Doctor? Doctor? Bueler? Bueler?

Probably because you are taking them on an empty stomach. That's never a good idea because most multi-vitamins are loaded w/ iron. Iron can be pretty rough on the belly.

Try eating something w. them. Same thing happens to me and if I have a protein bar or something small, that usually helps.

Try eating something w. more grains/carbs insted of yogurt so it can absorb the vitamins and not put all that on your tummy.

I take em every morning along with a B-complex vitamin. Empy stomach, full stomach, no problem.
Maybe the filler in the multi-vitamin doesnt agree with you somehow?

just a guess.

It's the vitamin B. It can cause a rushy feeling especially when taken on an empty stomach. If by chance your taking Centrum Performance it also contains Ginseng, which takes some getting used to. IMO, take it with food. Huge props on the vitamin decision... ;) We have to take care of ourselves.

Standard "one a day" thingy.

Try taking one after having a normal meal. If they still bother you after that, you may want to call your doc. Usually, it's the iron that bothers people but there could be other things that could cause the irritation.
