kelel01 1 #1 September 8, 2006 Ok, I just saw a plane fly overhead, and it looked like it had a giant flying saucer on its back. I think it was a prop plane, and it was flying pretty low. I'm right by Dobbins ARB. Anyone have a clue?

lawrocket 3 #5 September 8, 2006 It sounds like an E-2 Hawkeye, but I think that's a Navy bird. http://photo.starnet.ru/Thematic_Wallpapers/Aviacija_i_kosmonavtika/Bombers_recce_patrol/USA/E-2/images/E-2=.jpg There's a jet version - the E-3 Sentry. http://photo.starnet.ru/Thematic_Wallpapers/Aviacija_i_kosmonavtika/Bombardirovshchiki_i_razvedchiki/E-3/images/E-3_14.jpg Either of these it? simplyputsi 0 #10 September 8, 2006 actually everyone is wrong!!! They want you to think that it's some radar thingy on top but in fact it's a flying saucer. They put it on top so that it looks like that and then fly up where no one can really see and lauch it. Then when it comes back it lands on it and they land. That is what it is damnit!!!! and love the new sig line. I've been using it on some stuff around the office. Skymama's #2 stalker -

fields 0 #16 September 8, 2006 I live near Santa Barbara airport, where I have seen similar aircraft, but no flying saucer. They are California Department fo Forestry Tankers, Grumman S-2F 3AT Turbo-Tracker. http://www.air-and-space.com/20060625%20SBA/DSC_8149%20S-2F3AT%20N436DF%20CDF%20Tanker%2076%20left%20front%20taxiing%20l.jpg There is a smilar dishless plane that frequents the airport here. It is the Grumman C2A Greyhound. I regularly see a Piaggio Avainti.
