Nice place though, I've jumped there quite a few times. Atlanta Skydiving Center (ASC) lost their USPA membership for unorthodox business practices. I'm sure there are more. NWFlyer 2 #5 January 31, 2007 Two that come to mind off the top of my head on the west coast are The Parachute Center in Lodi and Northwest Skydivers up here in Washington. Both DZs are great to jump at (and in both cases you get to spook the drivers on a highway that runs right next to the landing area!). Edit to add: Of course there's a whole bunch worldwide. HIDGAF84 0 #8 February 1, 2007 What about on the east coast. I heard skydive Maryland wasn't a USPA DZ. Now being a non USPA DZ, you can skydive without a USPA license correct?
NWFlyer 2 #9 February 1, 2007 QuoteWhat about on the east coast. I heard skydive Maryland wasn't a USPA DZ. Now being a non USPA DZ, you can skydive without a USPA license correct? Depends on the DZ. Many will still require a license (from USPA, or the governing body in the jumper's home country). The DZs have just chosen not to become USPA group members. Lodi is one I know of that doesn't check anything. Show up, pay your money, and jump."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. pilotdave 0 #10 February 1, 2007 That's up to the DZO. The only non-uspa DZ I've been to required USPA membership to jump there. The DZO at that DZ didn't see the benefit of group membership, but wanted all jumpers to have USPA insurance and licenses. Dave
