popsjumper 2 #26 November 13, 2007 I'm not sure that Andrews would be still standing after "Dublin" left there...It would probably be good for the telescope business from all the mountaineers gettin' a good peek, though. How about we just show up unannounced at Monroe? I voted same time frame, different location. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Taylor610 0 #27 November 13, 2007 IMO, the only problem I can see with the St. George location is that there is a limited support infrastructure and the amount of people you could potentially draw could quickly overwhelm the DZ and the local community. Other than that, I had a good time there. *** I often worried about whether or not the "town" could handle the Harvest Moon Boogie. We had over 140 registered jumpers on a few occasions and there were always plenty of motel rooms, although the DZ showers and "indoor" toilets were maxed, it seemed that everything else was ok. Even "Georgio's" handled the crowd well (Thanks Ms. Nancy!). I don't know that St. George is the "best" venue for any boogie, I just remember the boogie always took on a life of it's own and despite the crowds, the town seemed to handle the boogie pretty well too. Of course, my opinion may be just ever so slightly biased...And just for the record, last I heard, the lock was still on the rotating beacon...
woodpecker 0 #28 November 13, 2007 I had a great time at the boogie last year and will attend any/anywhere you throw one. Just tell me where to fly in.SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
micduran 0 #29 November 13, 2007 I voted for new venue same time frame. It is something to look forward during the winter. The weather is always dicey, but you can't control that. A smaller venue would mean a smaller boogie. But, that isn't a necessarily a bad thing.Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours. upndownshop 0 #30 November 13, 2007 Chris Give me a shout, lets talk. How bout a combined event this year so we both have more time to get other things worked out for 2009? I think it would be a great event and a lot of fun!! I have the location, just need some serious help getting it put together. Funny about your poll I meant to post something similar last week for SF. What ya think?
