iluvtofly 0 #1 December 9, 2007 My cable tv just went out. At first it was just a few key channels (one of which being the Steelers game ) now it's all of them. However, I have cable internet. So shouldn't my internet not be working either? I'm confused.
imthegerm 0 #2 December 9, 2007 Hello there! I happen to work for a large cable company in San Diego. It is very possible to have your high speed internet working and your digital cable not working. If you have a cable box-you should undo the coax cable and unplug the box for at least one minute. then hook up the coax, then the power to the box. If after the box boots up and you still have no cable-I would call your cable company and let them know aqbout the problem-they can't fix it if they don't know about it! Good luck to you! I had a similar problem a while back and did what you suggested, which worked, but only for a limited time and I'd have to repeat...cable company had to come in and install a signal booster box thingie. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
iluvtofly 0 #4 December 10, 2007 It ended up comming back on itself after about 30 to 45 minutes. I tried calling but the number was constantly busy. I'm guessing I wasn't the only person having problems and was pissed about missing the Steelers game.

iluvtofly 0 #6 December 10, 2007 Well now that it's almost the end I'm not that upset that I missed. I'm more on the verge of crying.

MrFreefall383 0 #9 December 10, 2007 "Reasons for everything", that kind of shit, right? By the way, that's why I'm not a Mets fan. I'd rather not lose my cable all the time just because I'm so miserable about the Mets losing. If you have a cable box-you should undo the coax cable and unplug the box for at least one minute....... OK, I have a question for you. This seems to be the first course of action in most cable problems. And in most problems I've had, that fixes it. WHY THEN, don't they put some kind of master disconnect switch on the boxes ?? "Unplugging" the thing is so last century!Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
imthegerm 0 #11 December 10, 2007 Hey! A master kills switch is a great idea! It is kind of amazing with all of this great technology that these brainiacs havent thought of that! Until that happens, a surge protector works pretty well. You can hook everything up to it and just hit the switch. They work great for modems and routers too!
