Malta_Dog 0 #1 April 20, 2006 Yesterday, an experienced girl at my DZ attracted my attention on the danger to have the attachement point of the chin strap INSIDE the helmet shell. She told me that if a riser or a line gets into this snag point, it could break my neck. My helmet is a Parasport Italia Fairwind. It makes sense but I noticed later that A LOT of other skydiving helmets (i.e. Pro-Tec) share this 'feature'. Is it a well-known potential danger amongst the community and the manufacturers or is it a bit of safety overkill? Anyway, I plan to reattach the strap on the outside but I need to find a rivet pistol first... All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!
bodypilot1 0 #2 April 20, 2006 Any snag point on a helmet could possibly break your neck, even before you have a chance to release it with any nifty helmet cutaway system that they have on it. Try and eliminate as many places that your lines have a chance to catch on. Be safe Edwww.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
