alexey 6 #1 March 14, 2006 I'm just thinking now about moving to technora lineset production. Is there anyone who can share some info about that material... - what material do you use for cascadet lineset (what thickness) - what is the price for technora, and where do you buy it. - at what load do you measure lines - do you make any correction (for material compensation) beetwen Vectran and technora? - what machine do you use for sewing, and what pattern, and how big pattern is? - do you make any correction in "bartack" position on top of the line, bottom and cascade? - and any additional info, if you wants :) Thanks a lot, sorry for bad EnglishLexa

masterrigger1 2 #4 March 16, 2006 Alexey, First, let me begin by stating I am willing to help you in any way I can. With that said, I cannot release info that I have spent large amounts of money and time developing to someone that wants produce the same end product. Technora can be produced by any braid manufacturer that has the fiber available, so check around in your country for that. The amount of weight and the amount of stretch per inch computation is basically for in-house knowledge only. Sorry! beezyshaw 0 #6 March 16, 2006 Somehow, when we have been using Technora/HMA on the Nitro for almost 10 years, I find it kind of funny that Mark acts like he's done all the r&d on making linesets for mains out of these fibers. Hey Mel, you tell the guy you'll help him any way you can, then in your next breath tell him you won't help him. That's funny too. Don't get your feathers ruffled, I'm just kiddin with 'ya
masterrigger1 2 #7 March 16, 2006 Beezy, I know you're kidding! Quote Hey Mel, you tell the guy you'll help him any way you can, then in your next breath tell him you won't help him. That's funny too. I did help him! I told him any manufacturer could braid it! That's the only way I can help him!I did not know that you have been using Technora for 10 years though. The Nitro did in fact use HMA before we started using it, but that was a German Company that was making the line material, not CSR. We were the first to have CSR braid some for us here in the States, that's according to Frank Jr. We also were the first to do colored UV coatings on it that I know of. You guys, followed with a black coating. Are you guys still using it? We also changed the fiber count, carrier count and bundle count to what we use now. It is different that yours or at least what it was 4 years ago. beezyshaw 0 #8 March 16, 2006 QuoteWe also were the first to do UV coatings on it that I know of. You guys, followed with a black coating. Are you guys still using it? First, we don't use a "coating" for UV. I've tried to explain this to you before, but I could tell you weren't really paying attention. Our black line does NOT have a coating. It is IMPREGNATED with a uv resistance. Big difference. Coatings can and do come off. Why don't you take a few minutes this weekend to look at a Nitro lineset, you can feel how soft it is, unlike the sticky feel from a coating. So you may be correct in saying you first used a uv coating, but I can assure you that our lines were the first HMA to be produced to provide uv protection. masterrigger1 2 #9 March 16, 2006 Beezy, I will stop by. I also will bring a sample of our stuff. Ours is a coating, always has been.It also IS UV coating. As noted by several people, ours has a tackiness to it. Call it what you want, we were the first to put colored coatings on the Technora. (your turn) MEL what is the size (or rating) of the cascaded UV coated lines you put on my VX mid last year? All I know - they are tiny. rm
masterrigger1 2 #11 March 16, 2006 Rob, They are 350 lb. They are rated at 85% of their actual tensile strength when new. I believe the spec sheets state a 420 lb break test.
