That being said I was up in the Northern portion of Iraq Well there is the reason it may have worked better than the DCU. Typically, the woodland BDU is what is the most effective in the Northern parts. Thats more of knowing your operational environment and adjusting accordingly. Pockets , ass blow outs, you name it, the ACU has all those issues. That picture of the guy on the couch is about the only place the ACU pattern blends into. Yeah I know I laughed at that too. Actually the ACU was perfect for where I was. We were a mix of desert and grass although the winters were far more green. The pockets will always suck. There are other things too though. Anytime you walk near anything Velcro you have to watch all your patches because you will more than likely loose one and IMO the zipper is far more uncomfortable than buttons under armor. I digress though. I could really go on all day with what I think sucks on them. I do like the new 7 piece jacket system though. I haven't been issued a set but I have seen them in use and I think it's a much better system, seeing as people can tailor their level of warmth and still appear to stay uniform.DS #149 Yes I only have 3 jumps...it's the magic number dude.
