And now I get to make my first contribution to a numbers thread (I've been lurking for a long while ) Allright! Congratulations on the jumps. Where did you do them? Please tell us your stories."That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom
iambeav2 0 #52 April 28, 2009 Apparently not, cuz I didn't get anything for my 500th!!...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you! PolluxSJ 0 #53 April 28, 2009 I started AFF last Tuesday. The first jump went flawlessly, so I did 2 & 3 on Thursday. During 3, I flew pretty good and locked on heading really well. Then I checked my alti and started to loose stability a little. My instructor cleared me to do 4 anyway, since he said I was solo for an abnormally long time during that jump. I wasn't so sure, so I did some tunnel time yesterday to work on my body position and gain some confidence. It worked GREAT! I meant to do 4 and 5 yesterday but I grounded myself because the wind tunnel really tore up my arms and shoulders. 15mins in 2:30 chunks is a really long time in the tunnel! I'm training at Elsinore, mostly during the weekdays right now. Weather permitting (...stupid May Gray...), I'll be back out there tomorrow and Thursday. Baksteen 84 #54 April 29, 2009 Awesome story I wish i did that well after my FJC.. By the way, did you buy your ? I hear there's is a dairy near Elsinore that sells beer just to keep the skydivers happy, or something like that. OTOH, Tickle might've been just pulling my leg - I'm not sure. Tunnel is always a good idea, but don't forget - when your instructor moves you to the next level you have earned it. Any minor things that didn't go perfect on the jump can be addressed later on. Skydiving isn't about perfectionism, it's about having fun! But cool that you're dedicating so much time to your AFF course. This way you'll have maximum progression coupled with maximum fun. LisaH 0 #55 April 29, 2009 Yes, there is a dairy across the street from Elsinore that you can walk to and get beer. Tickle is correct. They get a lot of business from the dz. Be yourself! MooOOooOoo
