jsaxton 0 #1 August 10, 2005 Now that I'm starting to swoop a little I would like a longer chest strap. Can a Master Rigger do this or does it need to go back to the factory? Thks
slotperfect 7 #2 August 10, 2005 That is an easy job - a Master Rigger is required, but he can handle it.Arrive Safely John
diablopilot 2 #3 August 10, 2005 Or in my case I replaced it under the supervision of a Master Rigger. On some rigs it's very easy, others not so much. What kind of harness? Upper articulation? That usually makes it a whole lot easier.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
hookitt 0 #4 August 10, 2005 Go up to Skydance or take it to Pete in Lodi. It should take about 15 minutes to replace it. Edit: JP, he jumps a Wings so no chest rings. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
thegreekone 0 #5 August 11, 2005 can you just order a longer chest strap when ordering harness/container? I know Voodoo comes with thinner chest strap and should come with extra length, no? btw, how mch longer should it be?
diablopilot 2 #6 August 11, 2005 It's a simple request most manufacturers should be able to do for you. As for the width, the thinner stuff is type 17 and thicker is usually type 8 webbing. That in it's self should have no bearing on length. I prefer type 8 for comfort and the way it fits through the buckle. As for the proper length, well that's a comfort thing. I have 26" chest straps on my rigs to allow the canopy to spread as much as possible.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. darrenspooner 0 #7 August 11, 2005 My rigger put a longer chest strap on my old rig, but that was because I'm a fat bastard and it didn't fit very well! I got a new set of kit now.
bodypilot1 0 #8 August 11, 2005 Quote It should take about 15 minutes to replace it. Just make sure he knows it probably wont be during the 15mins he's standing in the loft though! Be safe.
