Steering line settings on a Tri 190

Recommended Posts

A couple of weeks ago I had some time under canopy to really take a hard look at my Tri. Noticed at the trailing edge where the steering lines are attached that each attachment point is pulling down on the tail ever so slightly while I'm in full flight. Normal or am I losing efficiency?

Being it's a Triathalon, it's probably not losing you enough flight efficency worth worrying about.

How many jumps do you have on the line set?

Is your canopy stalling as you flare at landing?

I picked it up used so there's no real way of knowing. It's not new by any stretch of the imagination. It flares out OK but I have trouble stopping it in no wind conditions.

Without someone seeing the canopy in person to judge if it's "just plane worn out" [:/], or seeing your landing aproach, it would be hard to tell why the flare isn't stopping you in no wind situations.

Seeing you have some years in the sport and a few jumps, try some 90 degree front riser aproaches to build alittle speed for lift before flaring.

Be safe.

What is the difference across the "A" lines?
Measuring across the "A" lines is the quickest way to determine the life of a line set.
New Triathlons have identical "A" lines, but by the time they have shrunk to a 3 inch differential, it is time to replace all the lines.
