Had at least a commercial certificate, should know enough to switch tanks by then. Maybe he didn't understand that the additional tanks didn't just fill the normal tanks or didn't turn on the transfer pumps? Also, how fucking low was he that he didn't bother a simple engine out memory item checklist? Not that damn hard. Either way, completely avoidable damage to an aircraft. ETA: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N8273M/history/20151013/1129Z/tracklog Looks like he was cruising at 11,500-ish... With those variations, I'd wonder where his focus was. It also looks like he lost it at altitude..."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
theplummeter 14 #4 October 16, 2015 My former chief pilot has a hilarious story about hauling a 300+ pound cadaver in a Cessna 210 from the Pittsburgh area to Northern Florida in the middle of the night. Turns out the fuel selector location is an important thing to note when loading.
