alois71x 0 #1 September 12, 2012 Hey All. First. Did a Tandem last weekend. Loved it. Scared but needed the jolt in life. I am planning on doing my second tandem later this week and then starting AFP classess. My question is, I live in minnesota, and I know it will get cold in the winter here. Can i start my AFP jump progression up here and then transition to another site in Florida/Arizona to finish it off- or do you start and finish at one site traditionally? Thanks
popsjumper 2 #2 September 12, 2012 You can start in one place and finish in another. It's highly recommended that you start and finish at the same place though. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. wolfriverjoe 1,359 #4 September 12, 2012 As Pops said, it's best to do it all in one place. But you don't have to go south to jump. Depending on the DZ and the weather, we "Northerners" will jump well into fall. And sometimes into the winter. And sometimes through the winter. You should be able to get a good part of your training done before the DZ shuts down (depends on the DZ, make sure you ask them). And most of us up here are used to the winter layoff. We do lots of refresher stuff in the spring to help reaquaint ourselves with the sky."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
