If you search for [email protected] you will find my on Myspace and see my aftermath of my first coached jump as well as my hotel check before I got on the plane! I jump out of Skydive Pepperell! Skyjump.com and David Perry was my ground school instructor! It was awesome! I flared way WAY to high (about 20-30 ft off the ground) but I didn't brake anything, even at my weight!, and I landed ass down! It was awesome! I can't wait until wednesday and I get to do AFF b jump! :)

Welcome to the forums! :) If you do a search on the forums, you'll see a lot of people have had flaring issues, you're not alone. Keep working on it, I'm sure you'll get it down.

I continue to have that problem....flare way to high. Most of the time I just laugh now...at least as long as I am not breaking anything. I seem to land every once in a while....most of the jumpers laugh at me because I start jumping up and down.B|

Congrat's on making your first jump. My first AFF I flared late and hit the ground pretty hard. Enjoy the forums and good luck with the rest of AFF.

Don't you guys/gals a a two way radio on you to help you land? Don't they tell you to get in PLF position with hands up....and when ready they say "FLARE, FLARE, FLARE!"?

My first unassisted flare was my AFF 7 and yes like most I flared about 4-5 ft too high and came down hard. My next was my solo where I landed off and flared on and up hill landing....both were hard but no damage.
Damn, this is fun!

I am doing my B and C out of it I can't wait ! Then next week I have set up a tandem for my girlfriend so she can stop giving me crap about all of this! I can't wait to see the look on her face when she gets to the ground! :)

If everyone has almost the same category skydives then I have to tell you it gets better in C skydive when they let you go and even better in D skydive when they let you go and you do turns and forward motion (I can't wait for E skydive where we do frontloops, backloops, barrel rolls, and tracking.) I still hate the plane ride up but once I'm in the door I can't wait to jump out like you. Right now the skydive doesn't make me nervous, doing what I am suppose to do and doing it well makes me nervous (I can't afford to repeat). I can't wait for my first solo jump where I'm going to toss myself out of the plane and just skydive belly to earth enjoying doing nothing.

Do you get the shakes when gearing up, jumping, or after landing? I seem to get that feeling of overwhelming energy when putting on gear, nothing but calm when jumping, and then get the slight shakes after landing. Makes the whole skydive that much more fun.

DAMNIT! My season is over the huge bruise on my leg has gone wicked bad. I had a cat scan today and the doctors told me to wait until next season! At least Sky Venture in Nashua, NH opened today! I live about a 5 minute walk away! So for the winter I get to learn everything I can in the tunnel so that when the season opens again I can do my 25 jumps in a weekend! Blue Skies to everyone! If anyone wants to see a wicked bad bruise go to http://www.dandaninc.50megs.com and watch the video on the main page. :(B|

Sorry to hear the news. I think your excitement is awesome. I have heard great things about the wind tunnel. There are no wind tunnels near my location and even the DZ is one hour away.

I still get the shakes after landing but now I get a little nervous (not sure if that is really the right word) on the A/C ride. I get a sick feeling in my stomach just thinking about it, I love when the door opens and I can just run and jump out of that tin can.

Well, hope your luck can match your excitement and things go well in the tunnel and next year.

Ok, I was finally able to see the movie and I have a question. What the f**k? Seriously, did the harness not fit or did something go wrong (besides the AFF-I pulling your chute)? I had a very hard opening (that was unusual because I was stable, the end cells were closed, and the slider was partially up) and had some minor bruises but that looks like it broke a vein or something. I am interested to know what your AFF-I think about it.

I was kinda cocked to the right and it was a pretty quick opening that led to 4 line twists. I just think because Im not in the best of shape I got bruised bad. Oh and its a hematoma which means as I get to have surgery next week to drain all the blood and fluid. I cant wait for the surgery. I will be able to walk like a human again as opposed to a crab which I have been walking like! It was hilarious even though I was sitting in her office the surgeon really wants to do her tandem! I hope I am there when she does! She was worried about her hands and I told her she wouldnt even need to touch anything.

I still have a tube in my leg draining more of the blood. They took out a liter and I guess that just wasn't all of it! Either way they take out the tube on Monday. WHY ISN'T THIS OVER YET? I do get spongebaths now! YEA!:P

OH and I started DeadManDan.com there is a guestmap on there. If people could post that would be really cool. I want skydivers from all over the world to fill it up! Thanks! :)
