A little help on pack volume?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at new containers, and wonder if anyone has a Vel 96 in a container designed for a Stilletto 107.
I can't find volume info on these canopies, so I'm trying to compare.
I am debating between a G4 MT, and a G4 MX
I have a 113R, Cypres2, and Vel 96.
I would like to get the MX, but not if it will be all but impossible to pack.
Quick input is appreciated.

no firsthand experience, but packvolume list in the paragear catalog lists the 107 at 306cu in and the velo at 340cu in. which would put the velo a bit bigger then a stilleto 135.

i know, i know the list isnt very accurate, but it does give somewhat of an idea.

I have an MT -1/2 with a PDR 126 and a VE96 and it's perfect.

The MX will probably work, but be a little tight. Why not get the MT -1/2 and have the bigger reserve, with very little differnce in container size?

I have considered going with the MT and getting a bigger reserve, but I already have two new 113Rs and I am ordering two new G4s, I really don't want to spend for two new reserves.
I also would rather my velo is completely dominant to the reserve, so to have a reserve closer to the main size is better IMO.
I was dealing with RWS, but a couple setbacks sent me to Mirage. I was getting V316s from RWS, but Mirage doesn't really have a similar container.
Thanks

After furthur thought, the MX might be perfect for what you want to do. The MT is sized for a 107-120 main. The MT -1/2 takes a 1/2 inch out bringing the main container closer to being properly sized for a 107. I find the VE96 packs near the same as a 107 Vengance. Good fit.
