skybytch 259 #2 February 29, 2004 I found one reference to the Peregrine in Poynter's Parachute Manual Vol II. Unfortunately there is no information on it that I could find beyond the name of the canopy and the name of the manufacturer. My guess, based on the d.o.m. and the fact that it's a "21 cell," would be that it is a copy of a PD Excalibur. That was one of the very first crossbraced canopies released. All F111 construction meant they didn't have the longevity of today's zp crossbraced canopies. I've never flown one so I can't really compare it to anything. And in this sport, 13 years is THAT old! Jumpmunki 0 #5 February 29, 2004 so then , while were both here what do you think it'd be compared to performance wise of todays market?
skybytch 259 #6 February 29, 2004 Quotewhat do you think it'd be compared to performance wise of todays market? Well, having not jumped one I can't really comment. I know that there are a couple people here who have jumped both Excalibur's and a number of the higher performance canopies on today's market. Hopefully one or more of them will chime in. Canuck 0 #7 February 29, 2004 I know a guy that had one. It was exactly as Lisa suggested, an Excalibur copy, and I'm pretty sure they were indeed F-111. Chute Shop replaced it with the zero-p Reflex (elliptical 9 cell) in the early 90s. Canuck

Tonto 1 #9 March 1, 2004 Hey. I have about 200 dives on a Perigrine. The later ones, (Around end 1991) had a ZP topskin. They were indeed an Excalibur copy, in that they were "21 cell" and were renowned for their "seek and destroy" type openings and high pack volumes for canopy size. I don't think you could compare it to todays rags. At 700 dives, I'd steer well clear if it were F-111. I sold mine and bought a Jonathan, which was a huge step up - but is completely outclassed by even very old ZP designs like the Stiletto. tIt's the year of the Pig.
