Alti-5 ?? anyone know anything about this

Anyone know anything about an alti-5? I've been told they are like alti-3s but made of PLASTIC I can't find any information on them.

Alti V's are no longer produced. The case is plastic, and is bigger both in the face and in height than the Alti3 Galaxy. They retailed for around $100 when they were available.

I had one. It touched the ground on one landing and the case cracked. End of altimeter.

If you can pick it up for free or close to it and you can't afford an alti with a metal case... grab it. I wouldn't pay more than about US$30 for one today though.

The working parts on the inside are not as high quality as the Alti3. They didn't have the lifetime warranty that the 3's had. I wouldn't buy it unless I had it checked by Alti.

had one for about 6 years and was pretty bullet-proof... er... at least until it left to join its other suicidal gear parts on a skysurf above Perris. It's now somewhere in the badlands west of the DZ...

Grab a Galaxy or a FT-50 enhanced and ya can't go wrong... just a few dollars difference.
