JumpCrazy 0 #1 December 12, 2003 ok, I am adding up the weight of my rig here using shipping weights given on gear store websites: Silhouette 150: 8 lbs Tempo 150: 7 lbs Cypres: 1.5 lbs But I don't know how much my container weighs. It is an Infinity designed to fit the above canopies. It isn't articulated, it has mini rings, and a standard D style reserve handle. Oh, and it's BOC. Anyone know approximately what this would weigh?Flying Hellfish #
rigging65 0 #2 December 12, 2003 Mine says 6.5 lbs... Probably close to the same size as yours. "...and once you had tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. darkwing 4 #3 December 13, 2003 If you are interested in an accurate result, using posted shipping weights almost certainly overestimates the actual weight. If you aren't interested in accuracy, then just say 20 lbs or so. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

Thanks, I figured that would be about rightQuoteIf you aren't interested in accuracy, then just say 20 lbs or so. I was just wondering how much the container weighed, not the whole rig. Also, I can't seem to find shipping weights for containers anywhere, I con only find the weights of canopies and other things.Flying Hellfish #
Jimbo 0 #5 December 13, 2003 QuoteI was just wondering how much the container weighed, not the whole rig Well, if you know that the whole rig weighs ~20 lbs, and you have the weights of the Cypres, main and reserve canopies, it should be pretty simple to figure out what the container weighs, right? - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
JumpCrazy 0 #6 December 13, 2003 Problem is I don't have a scale so I don't know how much my rig weighs exactly. I'll just find a scale and weigh it. Thanks for your help, I was just wondering if anyone knew.Flying Hellfish #

Martini 0 #8 December 13, 2003 Sometimes my container weighs about 6.5 lbs. (Infinity), sometims it weighs about 194 lbs., especially early on sunday morning. I think it has something to do with the combination of alcohol and gravity.Sometimes you eat the bear..............
